4th of July... a little late

Happy 4th of JulyWe had a picnic for 4th of July. The kids all got matching outfits to wear for the day from Grammy... the girls even had matching bathing suits... they looked so cute.

I am grateful for today

It has been a rough start to the week... Clara is teething, everyone is exhausted... we are all off our normal sleeping patterns... kids were up until 10, 11 and even midnight one night in the past week... they are normally in bed by 8, asleep by 8:30 at the latest... now we are struggling... but we will get back to normality soon. In saying that, even Bryce has been napping lately due to being so sleepy... cause they still wake up at 7:30... on their own.

Today, was a great day, yes, we were still up early, after going to sleep late, but Clara's mouth was feeling much better today, the kids loved playing together today, I got to scrapbook, we played Hungy, Hungry Hippos and hide and seek together today... it was just a lot of fun... then they both layed down for a nap at the same time and fell asleep! Yeah! More scrappin time... I will post pics soon... I am up to May for scrappin the kids stuff... as of yesterday, I was at last August... but after doing our O. C. trip, a snow layout and some birthdays... we are at May!!! I always feel so much better when I have a chance to catch up on my scrappin... it was really bothering me that I didn't do last summer's vacation... but it is now done!

Tonight, I went to Beth's jewelry show and got some great jewelry! Can't wait to get it in... I just updated my Campbell's Creations blog with the 3rd layout for Quick Creations...

I also have 2 classes on Friday... Explosion Box and Mini Magazine holder with 4 cards...

Tomorrow will be a great day as well... can't wait to see what the kids and I do! don't forget tomorrow is 7-8- 09... take a picture at 10:11:12!

So, I chose to do a layout about my kids names and where they came from.
Bryce's reads: Mommy chose your name. Bryce is after a student and Albert is after your Great Grandfather.

Clara's reads: Daddy chose your name. Clara is after your Great Grandmother and Alexis is after a dance student.

The story behind a name is so very special and each of you have a story behind yours. It was great to be able to do a layout that told a small part of your story.

Today, Nana and I took the kids to Claws and Paws

All of our favorite animal was the giraffe.
They ran to these photo opts to get their picture taken.

We also loved the lions...

Look at the huge snake... Nana held one of these around her necks a few years ago!

Alligators- both kids were extremely scared of the alligators... Bryce actually squeezed onto Nana's arm really tight while looking at the alligators.

12:30 is Feeding the Giraffe time

I have never had the opportunity to do this before, but will make sure I get there everytime from now on... it was simply amazing.

His tongue was incredibly soft like velvet... it was about 12 inches long... and blue (which I knew)

Bryce and I both fed the giraffe. Clara almost did but she got a little timid when he bent down to eat out of our hands.

A day to remember

I am so thankful that my mom took the kids and I out and about today. It helped me keep my mind off of what today is... Today is the 5th anniversary of my Pop Pop passing away. I remember that day very vividly. I was at a school conference when I heard that he had a stroke and I rushed home and skipped the rest of the conference. I spent the day and evening by his bedside with my family. I am so thankful that I was able to say goodbye even if he wasn't able to do the same back. I know that he was thinking the same thing.

Bryce's middle name is Albert after my grandfather... he reminds me of him with some of his mannerisms as well. Brian and I believe that Bryce is the spirit of my grandfather. We were trying to get pregnant for months before my grandfather died; however, we found out right afterwards that we were pregnant. I wish that my grandfather could have met both of my kids, but I know that he looks after them everyday. I can tell by watching my grandmother with them... how much he would have enjoyed spending time with them. Bryce and my grandfather would have loved riding around on his tractor together... those are some of my fondest memories... my grandfather sticking all 5-6 grandchildren on the trailer behind the tractor and driving us around the yard and development. (I say 5-6 because I don't remember if Deidre was too young or not to go for the rides). Clara has my grandfather's funny mannerisms. He used to try to get under certain people's skin by what he would say, but it would be in good fun. I can see Clara doing that as well.

On our way back to Tannersville, we stopped at the House of Candles to see the animals. The ponies were adorable.
