Shabby Chic Challenge #1

Shabby Chic Challenge #1I am so excited to find this new challenge blog. Their first challenge is an "inspiration" challenge. The inspiration was a picture from Moulin Rouge. I was drawn to the colors and the fans in the picture...

Scrapping the Music Challenge #94

Scrapping the Music Challenge #94

What I Like About You...

This is the perfect song for my daughter, Clara... like me, she loves to dance. It is one of our favorite things to do together. When asked to pose for a picture on the 4th of July... Clara started dancing in her new dress. My husband and I both are dancers and we are amazed at how fluid she is with her body when she is moving to the music.
Title: You really know how to dance!

Journaling reads: When you dance, your body is so fluid. We love dancing together. Dancing with you is just one of the things I love about you!

Techniques used:

handstitching
handmade buttons- handstitched and Acryllic Accents added to make it look like a glossy button
Embossed my handwriting on my title
Hand cut the star
Painted with bubble wrap
Thank you for looking at my creation for my daughter!

2nd floor tonight

View tonight...This is the view tonight of the scaffolding ready to start the roof tomorrow.
Here are the two beams that hold up the floor above. They are cut from 2 of our logs... we had them milled for the house.

View from our bedroom... looking out onto the loft.

One more... to give you an idea of where the peak of the roof is... 3 feet above where the scaffolding ends...
