Happy Veteran's Day

Happy Veteran's Day!I would like to take a moment and thank all the men and woman who protect us everyday!
Here is my card that I created for Practical Scrapper's this week. Our challenge is to use color core and white core cardstock. On this card I used both. The brown cardstock in the center of the card has a light brown core. I sanded the edges to expose the lighter color. I tore the cardstock at the bottom to expose the core.
Next is my card that I created for a card swap that I am in at Practical Scrappers. I created 7 of these cards to exchange. I can't wait to see what cards I receive.
I created this round card for the Challenge Master's Card Challenge. Challenge was to create a round Christmas card using blue!
During my card crop this weekend, I created this adorable owl card. I love owls!!!

I just found out that I won a challenge over at Crop Addict... check it out here.

More layouts from this weekend...

Here is my layout for the newest Scrapping the Music Challenge #111 "Still Haven't Found What I am Looking for". I used Marks Paper Company paper that I received for winning their challenge. The picture is from Tanya and Jimmy's wedding in September. Speaking of them, I am loving having them home. I enjoyed spending time with you guys this weekend! Thanks Tanya for watching the kids today while I taught my Christmas Card class!More challenges for Challenge Masters!
First one is for Book of Me (which I am beginning) I have created layouts about me before. I am in the Scrapping the Music Hall of Fame for my 1st layout that I created about me. I am thrilled to begin a book to leave behind so my kids and grandkids know who I am, what I stand for, what my morals and values are... here is my first layout for my official BOM. The challenge was to give 1o facts about you.
1. wife- married Brian August 3, 2002
2. Mom- Bryce and Clara (named birthdates)
3. I love to dance
4. I love fall colors
5. I am a kindergarten teacher since 2000
6.I am building my dream log home with a great room, master suite and scraproom that I designed.
7. I {heart} photography
8. I love to be girly
9.I love fondue
10. I am on 4 design teams. I {heart} scrapbooking!

Next layout, I created for the Book of We challenge. Scrapbook how "we" met!
Another new scrapbook that I am beginning this month. One of my very first scrapbooks was our relationship. I can't wait to get that book out of storage and comparing it to this one!
Book of Him- I have created mini books for Brian, but again- I focus on the kids (which is great) but this book will be dedicated to Brian
My 1st take on an Ad/art challenge- this one was really tough for me.
Journaling challenge- when I began teaching scrapbooking (a few years ago) I made myself begin journaling. I was the one who said "I hate my handwriting, I let the photos tell the story... etc." Well, I learned by looking back, that I don't remember it all, so I try to tell the story through my journaling.
I can't wait to show you my upcoming Practical Scrapper's and Sketchy Thursday layouts as well!
~On a side note, my week has gotten better.
Bryce is feeling great
Clara never caught the flu (she stayed healthy- as well as Brian and I)
My grandmother is feeling better
My jewelry from my show came and I love it!!!
Card class was fun today!
Learned how to make a really cute gift card holder today!!! Thanks!
The underground electrical and tubing is complete- it will be back filled tomorrow.
The roof being completed this week!!! Yeah!
Baking Christmas cookies last night- yum!!
Owl stamps- they are just the cutest!
Getting my Stampin up order tonight! I can't wait to use those cute pumpkins and christmas stamps!
Looking forward to scrapping next weekend with all my scrapping buddies at the Kinnon Breast Cancer Crop! I can't wait to hang out with everyone and get lots of scrapping done for a wonderful cause!
Have a great night!

Cards and layouts to share

Some items to share...First, I created this card using some scraps from one of my upcoming STM layouts. (Can't wait to share it.)
Next, here is my layout for the technique challenge at Challenge Masters. The challenge was to mask a shape and stamp around it. I masked the leaf shapes and used glimmer mist and stamped around the leaves.
Love that picture of Clara!
Next is my layout for the Sketch Challenge at Challenge Masters.
One of my favorites is this layout that I created for the Scraplift challenge at Challenge Masters. The layout that I scraplifted is so beautiful! The layout has such great bones to it, I am sure I will use this one again and again!
I created this layout for the Recipe Challenge. You needed to use buttons, 3 borders, stitching (I used faux stiching), 2 fonts in the title, and leaves. You should check out Challenge Masters, there are 15 different challenges that will inspire you!
Using my scraps from my Scraplift layout, I created this card! I am hooked into creating a card with my scraps that are left on the table!
I also created my BOM (book of Me) layout, BOH (book of him) layout for challenges today as well, but it was dark so I will post them tomorrow with more creations!
It is so hard to post tonight, there have been way too many negative things going on in my life right now and I am trying to stay positive. I would love to share, but again, I don't want negative thoughts out there... so please send me some positive thoughts, I really could use them!
Thanks!

House

Compromises...One lesson that I have learned in building our own home is you must make compromises... we have been compromising for the past 2 years... I am looking forward to seeing what our house will be.
Jimmy and Dad C. worked really hard today putting in the tubing for the electrical. They are almost to the road, by tomorrow, we should be to the electrical pole!
Brian and Shawn worked on finishing framing the porch roof. It should be completed tomorrow with the plywood on it!
Can't wait to have our first visitors enter through these doors!
The doors are hung! Haven't decided what color they will be yet. We believe they are from a church. Gotta love reclaimed items, the best for the environment! Reuse!

Thanks for stopping by the Cozy Cabin!

Happy Halloween Blog Hop

Welcome to the 1st Halloween Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Tonya's blog! Here is the beginning of the hop if you are just joining us. You will want to start at Sarabeth's blog!
~

When I think about Halloween, the first thing I think of is candy! My favorite candy is Reese's Peanut Butter cups, yum!

Your first way to get entries into my blog candy giveaway is to tell me your favorite candy (1 entry), link a layout or project that uses candy in it for (3 entries).

In preparing for Halloween, we always visit the pumpkin patch. Here is a home decor item that I created and haven't posted yet. I took a cork board tile and covered it in cloth. Then I added ribbon and embellishements and have a reuseable home decor item that can change with the holidays. Next I think of decorations! Since I am currently living with my in-laws I can't show you my decorations, but here are some of theirs! For another entry into the drawing link a picture of a decoration around your house to the comment section of this post. (2 entries)
Finally, I think of costumes when it comes to Halloween! Create a layout showing off some favorite Halloween costumes! (3 entries)

Finally, if you become a new followerer during this hop, you can receive (2 more entries for my blog candy) If you become a follower on Scrap That Poetry's site, you recieve (5 entries).

Here is my blog candy! Comment on this post with your entries for my blog candy. You can do one or all of the ways to win throughout the hop! I will put your number of entries in a hat and pull a name on November 2nd. Stop back to see if you are the winner! I will be posting more things throughout the weekend.

You are now ready to hop over to your next stop at Kristal's blog. Thanks for hopping by and I hope you stop back again!

A little of it all...

Scrapping the Music Challenge #109 "Our House"This is now my new favorite layout, ever! I created it for this week's Scrapping the Music challenge. I used numerous Jillibean papers as well as various others to create "our log house".
The double doors open to reveal my journaling.
I also created this layout for Embellish it's "mix it up" challenge, where you needed to mix at least 3 different paper lines from the same company. I mixed: Cream of Mushroom white, Cream of Mushroom kraft, Spicy Pumpkin and Cold Raspberry collections.
Next challenge is for Practical Scrapper's challenge this week to use your punches. I used 2 border punches to create this card for Halloween. I love border punches.
Last challenge is for Design Dollies and Practical Scrappers (again for punches- punch is used to create window on door). The Design Dollies challenge was to try a monochromatic brown card (I needed the little punch of orange) and to use stripes.
Update on the cabin: the roof on the porch is almost done, the double front doors are hung!

Oops, one more challenge for Maximum Exposure- take a picture of something orange and black! Love fall pictures of trees and this one is one of my favorites.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my challenges and life update!
Don't forget to stop by tomorrow through Sunday for the Halloween Blog Hop!

Color, family, friends and bling!!!

What do all those things have in common? They all made the day wonderful! Tonight, I had a jewelry show and so many friends and family members were able to come and have a wonderful time! I loved watching everyone so relaxed and having fun. Life right now is not the easiest here, but we are all keeping it together and relying on each other to get through! It was fun seeing my Assistant Pricipal, co-workers, scrapbook friends, best friend, family and soon to be family (hopefully- wink wink) all having fun together! We had a blast trying on jewelry, chatting and just having a good time. In the end, I won $500 worth of jewelry! Whoo hoo! Clara looked adorable trying on jewelry as well!

I also was asked to join the design team at Challenge Masters today to be on the "Color challenge" team. When I know more, I will share. The voting ends in a little over an hour at Sketchy Thursday, thank you all for the votes. I really love that blog and sketches, I have my fingers crossed!

I am loving spending so much time with my kids. Tomorrow is a big day, keep your fingers crossed for me... I am looking forward to seeing all my friends everyday again! I will be posting my next class tomorrow on my "Campbell's Creation's blog". Can't wait to see everyone again this weekend!
