Halloween Hop - Part 2

Halloween Blog Hop- Part 2
Here is a layout I created for Sketchy Thursday's challenge this week.
More things that remind me of Halloween... parades

Trick or Treating...
Picture of Bryce and I last night trick or treating.
Their cousins slept over last night for a Halloween jammie party.
Movie time
Cuddled up for a rest.
The kids before the Halloween hunt... (like an Easter hunt- but for trick or treat bags)
Each child looked for their own color bags throughout the house.

With their loot...

I also think of Halloween cards...
Don't forget about the blog hunt... click below to take you to the original post I have all my challenges on... or scroll down to the next post.

Happy Halloween Blog Hop

Welcome to the 1st Halloween Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Tonya's blog! Here is the beginning of the hop if you are just joining us. You will want to start at Sarabeth's blog!
~

When I think about Halloween, the first thing I think of is candy! My favorite candy is Reese's Peanut Butter cups, yum!

Your first way to get entries into my blog candy giveaway is to tell me your favorite candy (1 entry), link a layout or project that uses candy in it for (3 entries).

In preparing for Halloween, we always visit the pumpkin patch. Here is a home decor item that I created and haven't posted yet. I took a cork board tile and covered it in cloth. Then I added ribbon and embellishements and have a reuseable home decor item that can change with the holidays. Next I think of decorations! Since I am currently living with my in-laws I can't show you my decorations, but here are some of theirs! For another entry into the drawing link a picture of a decoration around your house to the comment section of this post. (2 entries)
Finally, I think of costumes when it comes to Halloween! Create a layout showing off some favorite Halloween costumes! (3 entries)

Finally, if you become a new followerer during this hop, you can receive (2 more entries for my blog candy) If you become a follower on Scrap That Poetry's site, you recieve (5 entries).

Here is my blog candy! Comment on this post with your entries for my blog candy. You can do one or all of the ways to win throughout the hop! I will put your number of entries in a hat and pull a name on November 2nd. Stop back to see if you are the winner! I will be posting more things throughout the weekend.

You are now ready to hop over to your next stop at Kristal's blog. Thanks for hopping by and I hope you stop back again!

A little of it all...

Scrapping the Music Challenge #109 "Our House"This is now my new favorite layout, ever! I created it for this week's Scrapping the Music challenge. I used numerous Jillibean papers as well as various others to create "our log house".
The double doors open to reveal my journaling.
I also created this layout for Embellish it's "mix it up" challenge, where you needed to mix at least 3 different paper lines from the same company. I mixed: Cream of Mushroom white, Cream of Mushroom kraft, Spicy Pumpkin and Cold Raspberry collections.
Next challenge is for Practical Scrapper's challenge this week to use your punches. I used 2 border punches to create this card for Halloween. I love border punches.
Last challenge is for Design Dollies and Practical Scrappers (again for punches- punch is used to create window on door). The Design Dollies challenge was to try a monochromatic brown card (I needed the little punch of orange) and to use stripes.
Update on the cabin: the roof on the porch is almost done, the double front doors are hung!

Oops, one more challenge for Maximum Exposure- take a picture of something orange and black! Love fall pictures of trees and this one is one of my favorites.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my challenges and life update!
Don't forget to stop by tomorrow through Sunday for the Halloween Blog Hop!

Color, family, friends and bling!!!

What do all those things have in common? They all made the day wonderful! Tonight, I had a jewelry show and so many friends and family members were able to come and have a wonderful time! I loved watching everyone so relaxed and having fun. Life right now is not the easiest here, but we are all keeping it together and relying on each other to get through! It was fun seeing my Assistant Pricipal, co-workers, scrapbook friends, best friend, family and soon to be family (hopefully- wink wink) all having fun together! We had a blast trying on jewelry, chatting and just having a good time. In the end, I won $500 worth of jewelry! Whoo hoo! Clara looked adorable trying on jewelry as well!

I also was asked to join the design team at Challenge Masters today to be on the "Color challenge" team. When I know more, I will share. The voting ends in a little over an hour at Sketchy Thursday, thank you all for the votes. I really love that blog and sketches, I have my fingers crossed!

I am loving spending so much time with my kids. Tomorrow is a big day, keep your fingers crossed for me... I am looking forward to seeing all my friends everyday again! I will be posting my next class tomorrow on my "Campbell's Creation's blog". Can't wait to see everyone again this weekend!

All About Me- Challenge #4- Turning Point

Challenge #4-Turning Point in your life
~
Journaling reads: "I have had many turning points in my life, some are monumental others not so much. My scrapbooking turning point happend this past summer when I realized I need to scrapbook about myself. Since then I have began creating pages all about me for my very own album. I don't have to be kid-centric!"
~
Honestly, I feel that I have made a huge journey to find out who I truly am... we all lose a part of ourselves when we get married, begin a career, have children. Are we truly being us, or are we being what others would like us to be?
~
I have at least 15 scrapbooks for each of my children that document everything (and I mean everything) from when they were born until this past summer. I have spent the last 4 years scrapbooking everything in their lives... then I began doing some challenges, took an online class and began a journey to find myself. I have a class that I plan on teaching which creates an album all about me! I feel everyone needs to begin on this journey at some point in their life; when they are ready!
~
Thanks for looking at my turning point!

Life is Good (Warning-long post- photo heavy)

Life is Good- (update on our lives)
Today, the kids enjoyed playing with the leaves that were blowing down from the trees. It was a beautiful Autumn day here in Pa. The kids and I enjoyed the day playing Yahtzee and Blue Clue's Game.

Can't wait to scrapbook the pictures from today!
When we came inside, I found two packages for me!

Scrappy Do sent me this goody bag of scrapbook supplies for winning one of her games during the online crop this month. Can't wait to create with this fun stuff... gotta love the Maya Road transparencies.
Also, Stacy (owner of Marks Paper Company) sent me my prize for winning her challenge on her blog. I received a complete set of one of her paper lines, covered buttons and 2 packs of pens. They are awesome! This paper is amazing and can't wait to start scrapping with it!
On Thursday, I got to join the kids at school to be a parent helper! Clara was chosen as the Star of the Day!!! She was so excited- all the kids stand up and they are given clues to who the star of the day is... 1st clue- a girl (boys sit down), has a brother, her brother is in our class (Bryce)... when she realized it, she jumped up and down and ran and gave me a huge hug... it was priceless. Her teacher is putting her special star around her neck. Some of her privileges include being 1st in line, choose your center, collecting patches and sit on special stool.
Here is Bryce leading us in a "follow me" game.
Clara collecting their patches!
My job during centers was to help each child do a crayon rubbing of an oval and turn it into a jack o' lantern, balloon or man.
Bryce created a really cute man, and Clara created an adorable blue pumpkin.
It was so much fun spending the day with the kids!
Since our Halloween parade got cancelled, Grammy and I took advantage of a beautiful night to take pictures of the kids in their costumes, since trick or treating will be very dark for pictures.

Love this funny face...
I love this picture of the two of them!
Tonight I found out that I won the challenge over at Practical Scrappers! Check out their blog and forum, I am having a blast participating over there! They are going to have a really fun challenge posted this weekend that their design team worked on, can't wait to see.
Don't forget about my blog candy in a post below.
Tonight I am thankful for...
spending time with my kids
spending time at their school
playing in the leaves
watching them in wonder of the little things
Disney Yahtzee
Blue's Clues game
breaded chicken (yum- new recipe Grammy helped me make)
my stars of the day (Clara on Thursday and Bryce on Wednesday)
Getting a lot of scrapping done in my free time
Getting a lot of walking in everyday (man I am going to be buff)
Going back to school hopefully soon
Our union and board meeting on Monday (hopefully will end our strike soon)
getting to spend time with my best friend every morning chatting (normally we get to say hi and go about teaching our day away- but now we have 2 hours at least of dedicated talking time)
scrapping the afternoons away
Saying what I need to say!
Getting updated pictures of the cabin this weekend
My mom and all her support
My sister for just calling to see what was up with us!
Jewelry show on Monday
Living a healthy life!
I could focus on the negative that is in my life now, but I have learned good things happen when you focus on the positive! Life is Good!
