Golf and a birthday card

Yesterday was my Sister-in-law's birthday...
I made her this card using Elements of Style which is one of my favorite sets.
I used Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla
Purple is one of her favorite colors... so I thought it was fitting.
I love how the envelope turned out as well.

Here are some pictures from today's trip miniature golfing!

Clara is the youngest so she got to go first.  Gavin helped her learn how to swing...
going...

going...

Hole-in-1!!!!
The only one of the day...

Bryce's turn...

We had a good time!
Makenna played 1 hole... Clara made it a little over half way.
Bryce was car sick and didn't feel well the whole time... but we all had a good time.
The girls and I left early since they were done.
They are all currently swimming in the pool.
Hope you all have a great day!

Update on house

Well, I spent the weekend working with Brian on the house... so that is why I haven't been posting many creations right now.  It seems to take forever to do everything... just to hand my chandalier in my closet took over an hour... wow!

All day Saturday, I spent time carrying out all of our tongue and groove wood which will the ceilings in the bedrooms and bathrooms.  They are anywhere from 10 foot to 20 foot in length... and heavy for one girl to carry... but after about an hour and a half... I got them all laid out and then bleached them.
While I was bleaching... Brian was just laying around.
Yeah, for hours... just laying around...
Well, honestly... I wouldn't want to do what he was doing...
look...
He was laying in about a one foot by one foot area... I still don't understand how he got in there and how he was able to lay there as long as he did putting insulation in the roof.
Then on Sunday, I cut down the wood for our walls while Brian hung the insulation between the walls...

Finally, here is my chandalier...
Well, it isn't completely up... but I started not feeling so well...
In fact, ended up going to the doctor and getting antibiotics...
I spent most of yesterday sleeping and resting...
feeling much better now.

My Why

I am so thrilled to have been asked to join the Recruit Crew for Stampin' Up!
We are given a chance to learn how to recruit and build our business.
We are given many challenges to learn about ourselves and become better!
One of our first challenges is to share our "Why" for joining Recruit Crew.
My Why- "I want to build my Stampin' Up! team because I want to take a more leadership role in the company.  I love the friendships, creativity and inspiration that I find with Stampin' Up! and I am looking forward to spreading those attributes with a team!

My Story- "why I joined Stampin' Up!"
I knew from my 1st workshop that I attended that if I ever wanted to start my own business that Stampin’ Up would be what I would want to sell. I have always loved the quality of the products and the creativity and inspiration that my demonstrator shared with me. I began taking some classes from another demonstrator and really became friends with her. She shared the opportunity one night and I signed up the next day basically. I started assuming that I would only do it for the discount at first but it is addicting and I started doing workshops soon there after. I am looking forward to building my team with recruits and taking on a leadership role in the company.

If you would like to learn more about the benefits of Stampin' Up!  please email me at happy2scrap4life@hotmail.com

I created this art piece with a canvas and the DSP Greenhouse Gala paper and stamp set.
I love this large grograin ribbon!
I used my new Big Shot die cut letters... for the title!

House update

House Update:
Here are some recent pictures of what we have been working on...
Brian has been working on the kids' bathtub.
Before...
After
Here are the 3 colors of the bathroom...
Dark green
Chair rail in light green
Barn red (tub and vanity)
Fixtures are off white
I must say... I did not think that Brian could refinish my great grandfather's tub to look professionally done...
I didn't, I know... no faith...
but, man did he prove me wrong...
now I didn't tell him that I didn't think it would turn out all that well,
until I saw it done today and was thrilled!!!
It looks like new!
It is over 100 years old!
Next project:
Bryce's room- put on a second coat of blue paint
Then painted his tree trunks...
next step add the leaves and frog that he wants...
(He also wants Buzz Lightyear, but Mommy doesn't know how to draw that!)

Thanks for stopping by the Cozy Cabin!

Carnival pictures

Carnival on Wednesday night!

The large slide was one of their favorites of the night... I think they each rode it at least 20 times...
good thing we had an arm bracelet!

They all loved going on the spinning bear together.
Do you think Clara loved  the roller coaster?
The bees were Clara's favorite ride!

The fun castle was Bryce's favorite... he went through it at least 15-20 times!

Best buds!
This was our first year of going to the carnival with big kids!!! No stroller this year... all 4 went on all the rides... all were well behaved and had a blast!
Wow, how time flies!
Check in later this weekend for tonight's fireworks!

Today is July 15th which means our 20th challenge at Scrap That Poetry is posted!
This poem is called "Dream" by Langston Hughes.
Click here to read the poem!

Brian and I have had a dream of building our log cabin for at least 8 years, since we got married.
Our dream became a reality a few years ago... but the process has been extremely slow.
If our marriage can last building this house, we are set for life!
When you read the words to the poem, you will see why I chose this picture of us and the cabin... there were times where we almost let our dream die...
bank issues
6 months to get permits
weather
more bank issues
even more bank issues
I think you get the idea!
Anyway, we didn't let our dream die.. we persevered... and we are extremely close to moving in!
I hope you all have a dream and persevere!
I would love to know what your dreams are... please come join me at my challenge blog, STP and play along.  Shazza is giving away a RAK as well as you have the chance to be a guest designer with us!
Tell me what your dream for yourself, child or grandchild is with a layout, card, project, etc.
You have until July 31st at 10 am EST to like to STP.
Thank you again for following me and for stopping by to say hi!
Mwah!
