Design teams items and challenges

I took a few minutes tonight to do some creative stuff, since I have been doing mostly work lately. I created the two tags below for 2 different challenges...
1st challenge is the Card challenge at Challenge Masters- create two tags
2nd challenge it fits into is Frosted Designs- use a scallopNext, is my favorite lottery ticket holder that I created for the Practical Scrapper's Design team- this week it is "anything Christmas" -easy challenge come over and play with us! I am also entering this in the Frosted Designs challenge for scallops.
This could also be used for movie tickets, gift cards, etc.

I wanted to play along with the Dollies again this week... so here is my card for their "all white" color combo.
Also, I played along with their "Shopping" challenge.
I used the 12.3 sketch from Sketchy Thursday! I love this sketch and can see using it over and over again.

I used some of my new Jillibean goodies that arrived in the mail today from Jillibean.
Check out all the amazing things she sent me!
I was really hoping for the corrugated alphabet letters and she sent some. I have not been able to find them, so I can't wait to create something with it...
Other goodies include:
Grandma' Soup paper- favorite Christmas paper that is out this year
buttons
ribbon
sprouts
acrylic stamps
One of our advent activities earlier this week was baking blueberry muffins.
We had a blast! The kids don't care too much for sweets, but love these!

Tonight I am grateful for...
sleep
scrapping time tonight
work getting completed quickly tonight
great school day tomorrow
kids feeling better soon
breakfast tomorrow
Don't forget to pop over to both Scrapping the Music to play along with "Smile" and Scrap that Poetry to play along with "The Road Not Taken"

Busy for awhile

I am sorry I haven't posted in awhile... things are extremely busy here... I promise I will be around to visit blogs and play along with challenges... but I need to get through report card time, conferences, etc. Hopefully I can post soon.

Scrapping the Music and much more...

OOOOHHHH, I have a new favorite song, Uncle Kracker's Smile. It is my #1 on my regular playlist if you'd like to hear it! (just pause the Christmas music). Or stop over to Scrapping the Music this week and play along with us.. there are so many things you can do with this song. Here is my layout!!! Journaling strips read:
You're better then the best, I'm lucky just to linger in your light,
Cooler then the flip side of my pillow, that's right, completely unaware,
nothing can compare to where you send me, you make me smile like the sun,
fall out of bed, sing like a bird, dizzy in my head, spin like a record, crazy on a Sunday night,
You make me dance like a fool, forget how to breathe, shine like gold, buzz like a bee,
just the thought of you can drive me wild, don't know how I lived without you,
cuz everytime that I get around you,
I see the best of me inside your eyes,
OOHHH, you make me smile!!!

I used paint, glimmer mist, randome things and created this Anything goes type of layout while listening to the song... I was dancing too! I sponged the journaling strips to get a distressed effect and match my color scheme. I hope you smile!!!

On Saturday, Grammy and I took the kids to Giant to see Santa, they went right up to Santa and said hello, we gracious and adorable. They told Santa what they wanted and had a blast.

Jeremy watched the kids so we met him there with Makenna and I was able to get 3/4 cousins with Santa. She wasn't too keen on Santa and needed Bryce to stand by his side and then she stood by Bryce. (Reminds me of my favorite picture of me and my sister with Santa when we were little... I am smiling... Catherine is crying....)

Then, Grammy, She She, Pappy, Jean, Jenn, Randy, Justin, Faith, Tyler, Gavin and I played Bingo to try to win some toys. Well, it was so much fun. Here is what my cards looked like. It was intense. She She was the lucky winner and went home with a monetary prize... Faith won a door prize.
Gavin and Justin with Bingo dots on their noses.
Jean and Pappy deep in thought during Bingo. They are so cute together.

When we got home, it had snowed and snowed... all Clara wanted to do was play in it... she was all dolled up and just sat herself down in the snow. She does it every year... 1st thing when she hits the snow she either sits in it or does a snow angel. So they had a snowball fight...
It was great packing snow!
Snow much fun!

Today, I taught my coworkers how to make some Christmas gift card holders, lottery ticket holders, and tags. I had a blast with the ladies and got a few of them "hooked" on scrapping! We said we were going to make it a tradition! Can't wait until I can host it at the cabin!

Story: My favorite gifts that I have given are always the handmade ones. Last year, I made scrapbooks for my father in law and nephew. I have numerous ones that I have in mind for this year!

Advent tag book: I created this tag book on Monday for my kids and I to use throughout the holiday season. On each tag, there are special activities or things for us to do together. On some tags there are even special treats for them. It has been keeping them busy as well as "scheduled quality time". Last night, the tag read: Bryce gets to watch a movie with Pop Pop and Daddy and Clara gets to scrapbook with Mommy. The other day, we all watched a Christmas movie while cuddling on the chair together then reading a special Christmas story before bed. Today, we will be baking blueberry muffins!!! I highly suggest this for your family!

Favorite Christmas Movie: It Came Upon a Midnight Clear

Scrap That Poetry, Practical Scrappers, and more!

Scrap That Poetry challenge #5
check out the challenge hereI love this picture that my sister took of Jonathan and Clara at the reunion. The two of them are on a road that is less traveled... I can't wait to see where they end up!

I hope you can join us for this challenge! Due December 14th! There is a RAK given by Tonia!

This week's challenge at Practical Scrappers is to make Christmas cards! Here is a card that I created using only tiny scraps from another card that I made. I folded the paper and added some distress stickles for ornaments! Come play along with us this week! If you saw one of my previous posts, you know I love the decade of the 50's... about 7 year maybe 8 years ago.. I suggested celebrating the 50th day of school by dressing up like we are from the 50's. We set up a museum, stretch out our phonemes in words using bubble gum and hopping in hula hoops, we write what we wish we had 50 of, have root beer floats and end the day with a sock hop! Here is my grade level team this year! This year, Quinette was able to have a juke box delivered to the school for us to use for the sock hop!!! Now if only I had some saddle shoes!!! I need to start searching ebay for a size 8! Here are pictures of our museum... Tiny tears Baseball cards were created in 51, playdough, Mickey Mouse Club Paper dolls, Barbie, Tammy dolls, Pez, and Mr. Potato Head (1st ones used parts in real potatos) I wish I could post pics of my 5 and 6 year olds... they look so cute all dolled up and greased up!!! Here is a pic of Becky and I teaching the Hand Jive! It was a wonderful day!
