Scrap Sketch and an online crop

Scrapsketch #12
This is my 1st time using a scrapsketch... I love them! What do you think?I used some of my new Jillibean goodies to create the layout!
I am currently participating in my 1st online crop at Crop Addicts. So far this is the only layout that I have made during the crop... but I have played many games, made cards and yet got to play and watch my kids during the crop! Whoo hoo! I love online crops! Check them out here.

Happy 3rd World Scrapbooking Day!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!!!
What are you doing today? My kids and I are spending a jammie day making cards for loved ones.I pulled out my Jillibean and Stampin Up Stash to make this collection of cards. I hope you enjoy!

I used fabric to make the flower and as a mat on the card.

I made this one for my nephew who turns 4 on the 10th!

Have you made a card today?
Thanks for stopping by!

Bryce and Clara's cards for World Cardmaking day

This morning, I told Bryce and Clara that today was World Cardmaking Day! They were excited and asked if they could make cards too! I asked them who they were going to make cards for and my really smart 3 year old replies right back Ian and Jonathan. Their birthdays are this week! It was what I was going to suggest, but they were on a mission.
So, I gave them some scrapbooking supplies and they were off. They haven't scrapbooked with me in awhile. We used to sit down and all scrap frequently, but I think it has been about a year since we have done this! It was so much fun! Here are their creations.

Bryce is even ready with a Christmas card. Bryce is 4 years old.
Clara is 3 years old.
I had so much fun scrapping with them this morning. It was a great crop here at our house. I hope you are enjoying this special day as much as we are... I will post my cards soon! I think I am going to work on some layouts next.

Favorite time of day, Marks Paper and How much is too much challenges

I had a fun and busy night creating 3 layouts for challenges.
The 1st one is for the Marks Paper Company. The challenge was to create a fall layout using 75% of their paper, so I scrapbooked the kids 1st day of preschool. Nothing says fall to me than Back to School time! I tried Julie's technique of layering her titles.

I embellised a pencil for the page to added an extra school touch.
Supplies: Marks Paper Company patterend paper: Wild Flowers/Log, Snap Dragon/Sun Kissed, Long Walk/ Rouge, County Fair/ Porch Swing
Scenic Route Chipboard alphabet letters, Ranger Walnut ink, Zig Pen, #2 pencil, Craft Essentials Ric Rac
Challenge #2
How Much is Too Much
Challenge is to use...
5 sentences of journaling
4 pieces of chipboard
3 words in the title
2 photo corners
1 shaped paper
This was a fun challenge to do... I am not used to limiting myself to a certain number of items!
Journaling reads: She has been waiting 1 entire year for this day! She is potty trained. She is 3 years old! She has a backpack. She is off to preschool!
Supplies:
Basic Grey Sugared Line
Ranger Walnut ink
Stampin up photo corner punch and paper punch
Me and My big ideas rhinestone
Zig marker
Jillibean alphabeans
Making Memories ledger paper
Tattered Angels glimmer mist
Scenic Route chipboard

Challenge #3
These Are a Few of my Favorite Things
My favorite time of day
"Jammie Time"
Jammie time can be in the morning, all day or at night... honestly I am happiest when I am in my jammies with my kids! I will spend all day in them if I can. My favorite school days are days when my students earn a "jammie day" as well!
I enjoyed adding the glimmer mist to the background to give it a distressed look.
I used Sketch #31 from Inspired Blueprints as my inspiration for this layout!
Thanks for stopping by my blog to see my challenges!

Pumpkin Patch

Hayride at the Pumpkin PatchThe whole family went on the 1st field trip of the year to Sieple Farms. We had a fun ride on the hayride all bundled under blankets and in warm clothes... much different than last year in light t-shirts. The weather held out for a nice trip... it drizzled a little but stopped quickly.
We walked through the corn maze to the corn classroom to learn all about corn and its uses.
Clara loved carrying around corn that she found on the ground.

Quick picture with their teacher...Cute pic of the kids.

After learning about corn, we walked the Crayola Factory corn maze.

We found the 4 missing crayons!

After the maze, they got to play with corn in many ways... corn rubbings.

Dressing the scarecrows. Then we got to each pick a pumpkin... Clara's is so cute and tiny. Bryce wanted a really big one.

Nice pumpkin, pumpkin!

I love this one by the wagon!

Is that a dog or horse?
It was a great trip to the pumpkin patch!
I am thankful for...
being able to take the kids on their field trip
spending the day as a mom versus a teacher
feeling well
jammie time
creative time tonight to work on some challenges

Scrap That Poetry Challenge #1 IF

Scrap That Poetry
Challenge #1 Rudyard Kipling's IFThere were so many lines in this poem that I loved...
If you can keep your head when all about you
are losing theirs and blaming it on you
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting
or, being lied about, don't deal in the lies,
or, being hated, don't give way to hating
and yet don't look to good, nor talk to wise,
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
twisted by knaves, to make a trap for fools
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue
If neither foes nor friends can hurt you
Yours is the Earth and everything that is in it
And- which is more- you'll be a man my son!
These are my favorite lines that spoke to me...
you can read previous posts that relate to the poem!
I couldn't decide on just one word, one verse, so I used the entire poem as a letter to my daughter for advice in life! I wrote her a note on the post card telling her to watch out for "mean girls" as she gets older and be herself!
I used a lighter to burn the edges around the poem... it gave it an aged/distressed look that I loved. I used red walnut ink to paint my daughter's umbrella pink, then I added some glitter dust from Stampin Up.

Come join in the challenge here
