Tell Me of Your Love

Tell Me of Your Love
by Clarence Campbell

I could not do so in a thousand years,
A thousand years of happiness and tears.
And if each year could boast a thousand days,
And each day show a thousand different ways
to speak my thoughts in every language known,
Elaborating on this theme alone,
I could not make you understand what lies
beyond all understanding, what defies
Translation into any form of art.
I cannot brush the motions of my heart
On canvas, play them on the stage, display
Them in a case of words.  I only pray
That sometime, at the edge of dreams, you may
Draw close to what I wish so much to say.

I love you so.

I unpacked some boxes today from our move and I found Brian's grandfather's poem, so I placed it on his pillow today.  Tonight, I got an email from a stranger who emailed me asking if I knew the poet and that she feel in love with this poem 20 years ago.  How amazing is this!

Tonight I am grateful for...
poetry
a fabulous Valentine's Day
after school workshops
SU sisters
friends
family
my kids
my fabulous gift from my kids (cleaning their room without me asking!)
jewelry
my class tomorrow night
